vartika joshi wiki : Vartika Joshi is from Pauri region’s Syalekhat village in Uttarakhand. She is currently staying in Rishikesh. She had got her elementary education completed from Srinagar and later got her graduation from Amity University and then went on to get an engineering degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Her father P. K. Joshi is serving as a professor in Garhwal University in the Birla region. Her mother too is a professor in Rishikesh University. Her father expressed his immense pleasure and pride in seeing her daughter being given such a challenging duty. He is proud of her since she joined the navy and narrates of Vartika has been a part of many endeavors of the Indian Navy.
Vartika Joshi is known for being the Skipper of the first six-member all-woman Indian crew of INSV Tarini; completing a 254-day circumnavigation of the globe that they began from Goa on 10 September 2017. The other crew members were- Lieutenant Vijaya Devi (education branch), Lieutenant Pratibha Jamwal (Air Traffic Control), Lieutenant P Swathi (ATC) and Lieutenant Payal Gupta (education officer).
